So everyone has an opinion on last night's red carpet at the Golden Globes.
Here is one set of critics:

However, when it comes to fashion, there is no better fashionista than The Fabulous Miss Ginger Grant herself! Read her take on the red carpet here.
Update (01.15.13): Here is another review of the red carpet. It was written by Clifford Pugh at Culturemap.

Jukebox Wednesday
Hey bois & girls...it's your long lost blogger. Yes. I am still around. I've been busy with the new job and doing things out and about. To top it off, I've been having laptop issues!
Anywho, Trash Disco was fun. Ginger Grant did a nice recap here. Thank you to everyone who attended.
Now...onto music for today.
Kevin clued me on this song a few weeks ago and I cannot get it out of my head! I play in The Cal Mobile. I play it when I'm running. I hum it for no reason. It's one of those songs that I think Kaye Sedilla should consider for her comeback in July 2010. Enjoy!

On Sunday, July 19, 2009, Legacy Community Health Services will be presenting Miss Mint Julep 2009! Long time readers will recall that it was at this event seven years ago when Kaye Sedilla made her debut. It was at this event last year when Kaye Sedilla had her last salsa. Rumor has it that Kaye Sedilla's 1/2-brother Ben Chilada will appear on Kaye Sedilla's behalf.
This year the event will be at Brazos River Bottom (2400 Brazos, Houston, TX). The doors open at 2:00PM and the show will begin at 2:30PM. All proceeds from the event will benefit Legacy.
Scheduled performers include: Shy Anne; Ginger Grant; Holly Redwood; Krewe of Olympus; ERSICSS; former Mint Juleps; and many more! Kitty Kash will be making her world debut.

Caddywampus
I woke up this morning around 600a and was feeling a bit odd. It had nothing to do with last night's glasses of wine.
On my way out of Bering & James, I saw one of the owners and reminded him that we had met when the Krewe had an event there. Then I mentioned to him that I had realized a few months ago that we have a mutual friend. And that's when the floodgates opened!
I figured I would walk The Calvinator, let the sun come up and warm things up outside, and then go for a run.
We came back from our morning stroll and I thought I was going to pass out. I laid down on the couch and fell asleep. I slept for another 3 hours. Probably not a good idea to go for a run this morning, huh?
I got derailed last night but it was in a good way. I went to a Table Captain Kick-off Party for HRC. It was at Bering & James. My plan was to stay there for a bit and then go to In And Out for a cocktail party for Ginger Grant's birthday.
Had some good political discussions. Of course I was hanging out with Hillary's peeps. I got to meet Special K from 104 KRBE.

He and I had met MANY years ago and have additional mutual friends. We chatted and laughed and before I knew it the party had wrapped up and the caterer was cleaning up. It was time to make my exit.
I really don't remember driving home because I was reliving the moment that we realized our worlds had collided again.
Ginger, if you're reading this I hope that it was a fun time and sorry to have missed you at In And Out.

Sunday recap
I have often been told and I have often self-described myself as being multi-faceted and eclectic. Yesterday was a good example.
Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday and also Mardi Gras weekend. I was invited to a couple of parties and wanted to give an appropriate host gift. So...I purchased some pom poms in the Mardi Gras colours, found some football and cheerleader beads, threw in some plastic hand clappers and strands of Mardi Gras beads. I was set!
The first stop was Joel and Arnold's Super Bowl Chili Cook-off Party. Guests could enter the cook-off and have their chili voted on by other attendees. I was surprised at the number of entries.
I didn't taste all of the entries and I can't remember all of the names & ingredients. You see...there was also a big bar set up so adult beverages were also a part of the festivities.
This is Wayne with his chili.
This is PC with his tribute to Heath Ledger. I believe the name of his & Mike's chili was I Can't Quit You Chili.
Here is a bowl of I Can't Quit You Chili. I thought they had two bowls of green onions. Instead it was one bowl of green onions and one bowl of fresh jalapeno peppers. I now have more hair on my chest because I put a big dollop of peppers on my chili.
Here is Jim Sikorski with his Rehab No No No Chili.
Here is Jeremy with his Hollywood Chili strategically placed.

And just in case you're wondering if I watched the game, the answer is yes. I even took a photo of the game on the flat screen tv!

Here is Kenny In Montrose (KIM) with DJ Chad. DJ Chad thought Jeremy's chili might win some sort of a prize if he took off his shirt...so he did.
I needed to leave, go home and walk The Calvinator and get to the next party. On my way out of Joel & Arnold's, I started a campaign for Jeremy to win the Congeniality Award for his chili. I showed everyone his pic on my camera. Samantha from Sex In The City would have so proud of me. I thought I did a great job as his publicist.
I found out later that he did win the Congeniality Award.
I made my way over to Joe & Eric's Party. I missed the opening and the kick-off but oh well. Fun crowd, good food and Elaine pouring adult beverages. Doesn't get better than that!

From Joe & Eric's I went and picked up Steven and we headed over to the BRB for an ERSICSS show. Some friends were performing and it is always fun to see them put on a show.
