As I See It - 03.09.16 - Happy Holidays

You've heard the saying, "Better late than never." and such was the case when my co-workers and I gathered at la griglia for our holiday party. You see...

We were never able to get together for a Christmas party in December, or January, or February so why not march on into March? It's sort of like what I've always said about Thanksgiving...

You don't have to celebrate Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of the month. You express your thanks, and you should, any day of the week. #justsayin

As I See It - 02.22.16 - Once Again, Back At la griglia

Monday at lunch found me back again at la griglia for a meeting. I decided to be adventurous and try the sesame crusted tuna. Normally when I eat tuna, it is out of a can and added to salad or it is the salad put between two pieces of bread. There was no need to do that with these pieces of tuna. The meal was yummy.

A work meeting at 4:30PM gives me carte blanche to drink, so I did because that's what you do at la griglia!

I've come to the conclusion that like donuts, no two King Cakes are alike. One of my co-workers brought this to our office and yes, before you ask, it was yummy!

The commemoration of my 54th Birthday continued at the office. Unexpectedly, I was the recipient of some warm cookies from Tiff Treats. It came along with some milk and some cookies 'n cream ice cream. #yummy

The day started with a Mimosa and ended with a beer. Somewhere in between I saw this fabulous table, ate at Little Bigs, and attended a day long meeting.

It rained. We went from a period of being deluged with rain to a dry period so we were due for a storm or two.

This was the view from the 4th floor of Legacy Community Health looking toward downtown as the storm approached.

It's an odd phenomenon with some of the people I work with. It rains and some people go into Chicken Little mode. Yes, I've been caught in my share of storms and flooded streets but I also try to remain calm. Maybe it's just me?

For as long as I can remember, crepe myrtles have always been a part of my life. My maternal grandparents had them in their yard and my parents had one in their yard. I don't know much about them but I do remember that one of my relatives tried to grow one in Kansas City, MO, and it wouldn't grow. I do know that they come in different colors and in one small area near my office, these three colors have blossomed.

So...on Monday, I had a lunch meeting at Memorial City Mall. I picked the restaurant and since I don't often have the opportunity to eat at Cheesecake Factory, that is where I set for the meeting location.

This is a Asian chicken salad and even though it looks like there is a bunch of food it was a lite meal.

Oh, and as much as I love their cheesecake, I didn't order any.

Parking around my office building can at times be a bit difficult. So...it just so happens that one of my friends, who is a neighbor to my workplace, planted flowers and brightened up the walk to the office building.

Friday was National Donut Day, a day to celebrate the donut and drive up sales before everyone goes on vacation.

So...one of my co-workers stopped at the local donut store and purchased a box of donuts to share. And yes, they were yummy!
