Pic(s) Of The Day - 09.14.15 - Cookies & Milk

The commemoration of my 54th Birthday continued at the office. Unexpectedly, I was the recipient of some warm cookies from Tiff Treats. It came along with some milk and some cookies 'n cream ice cream. #yummy

Pic Of The Day - "There's A Hole In This Cake."

Nothing Bundt Cake had really good cakes and yesterday for dessert we had mini-bundt cakes. It was post-birthday celebration for Aunt Lulu and a pre-birthday celebration for Joey and me.

Pic Of The Day - 07.22.15 - What's Up Cupcake?

The birthday celebration for Debbie continued with cupcakes from Celebrity Cupcakes. The good thing about mini-cupcakes is that you can eat two and not feel guilty. And...you can try more than one flavor!

Pic(s) Of The Day - 07.12.15 - They All Axed For You!

So...Sunday was the last day of the birthday extravaganza. I knew better than to spend Saturday night strolling through the bars on in The Quarter. And, because I was well rested, I was able to get up early, pack, and go to Mass at St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. It is one of my favorite churches.

Part of the birthday boy's posse was gathering at Broussard's for brunch. I had never been to that restaurant so I was game. It was actually very nice, the food was good AND they have bottomless Mimosas. It was a trifecta! Some of the guests at brunch looked like the Walking Dead of New Orleans but not me!

I loved that they had a jazz band strolling through the restaurant and without me asking, they played They All Asked For You.

I had some time to kill so part of the posse ended up at The Pub and then it was time for me to start making my way back to MSY. While I was waiting for the shuttle in the lobby of Hotel St. Marie I looked up and noticed the cool ceiling!

Pic(s) Of The Day - 07.11.15 - I Love A Parade

For over a year, my friend Jim has been talking about having a blowout 60th Birthday Party in New Orleans and he held true to his word.

Open bar. Lite bites. Friends. Jazz band. Police escort. Parade. More cocktails. Heat. Humidity.

About 4:00p.m. I decided I needed to rest. I relaxed and then found my Killer Poboys and then strolled around The Quarter.

Pic(s) Of The - 05.31.15 - Another Birthday

Part of my Sunday was spent reeling from the torrential downpour that happened on Saturday evening and my treacherous trek back The Calvinator's Upper Kirby Crib. Annie was correct. The sun did come out.

Anywho...I made a journey outside of the loop and went to Neon Boots for a joint birthday party for Bill Lidgard and Robert Brooks. It was a Diamond Jubilee celebrating their 75th birthdays.

The dance hall looked really nice. Many of their friends and family showed to honor these two guys who do quite a bit for the Houston LGBT community. And, the event was a benefit for Krewe of Olympus-Texas and ERSICSS.
We (Legacy) purchased the cake and it was dazzling!

Pic Of The Day - 5.30.15 - 60 Is The New 40

More and more my friends are celebrating milestone birthdays. The closer I get to 60, the younger it seems.

On Saturday, before all hell broke loose again with the weather, I stopped by George to celebrate Tank's birthday. It was a large crowd which to me is a testament to Steve's character. Yes, we all could have been doing other things on a Saturday afternoon but when someone like Steve celebrates a birthday and offers free drinks, you make time. He is a good egg.
