THANK YOU!

Two weeks ago, I decided to sign-up for AIDS Walk Houston 2009. Because I was a bit late in signing up and knowing these economic times are tough on folks, I set a low goal. Within 36 hours, I had reached my goal so...

I raised it! Well...in a few days that was surpassed and thanks to friends and family the contributions kept coming in. I decided not raise the goal again but it started approaching $1,000 which NEVER in my wildest dreams did I think I could raise that in 7-8 days. So, I was $10 short of $1,000 and Margo made a contribution that threw me over that mark. And the contributions continue to come in...amazing.

I don't know how else to say, "Thank You!" to everyone who contributed and to everyone who was there in spirit. People really amaze me and I am in awe of you.
The pictures (in a previous post) will show you that we did get caught in the hurricane force winds and tsunami rainfall rain. It was all for a good cause.

Here are some photos from today. The rain held off until the end but when it rained...it poured!

Brother can you spare a dime?

OK. So.

Last Thursday night before I went to bed, I SWORE I was going to sign up for AIDS Walk Houston. Money donated goes to a good cause and I had been a slacker in trying to request donations. With the current economic conditions, I decided to set an achievable goal and to give people an incentive to donate (a set of handpainted cards by me!).

In less than 24 hours, I reached my goal so I raised it to $700.

THEN, I met that goal. People really amaze me.

I am not raising the goal to $1,000 but just in case you're wondering, I am $80.00 short of $1,000. And to think I was only trying to raise $200.

I know that times are tough and some people can't donate and trust me, I completely understand. Be there in spirit with the thousands of walkers who will take to the streets of Houston on Sunday, March 15.

If you can spare $20, how about pushing me to $1,000? Remember, for every $20 donated I will give you a set of 5 cards that I have made. For more information, click here.

AIDS Walk Houston

On March 15, I will be participating in the 20th Annual AIDS Walk Houston. Thousands of people will take to the streets of Houston in a 5K walk to raise money for HIV/AIDS initiatives throughout Houston. The event will increase community awareness and educate Houstonians about HIV/AIDS.

I will be walking with the team from Legacy. Legacy Community Health Services is one of the participating agencies and a portion of the funds raised through this walk will be given to Legacy. AIDS Foundation Houston who sponsors this event, will also receive funds from my fundraising efforts.

So rather than beat around the bush I'm just gonna ask: Will you contribute $20?

For every $20 that you contribute, I will give you a set of 5 handpainted cards that I have created. It is my way of saying thank you for your support.

Now...to get your cards you have to click here and be sure to send me your mailing address so that I can send you your cards! My email address is included in the donation page.

Thank you in advance for your support!
